Dyrham Park hosted what they called a "Rave" in the White Field. The most popular stall was the Manchester Pie Company. I was eating their splendid meat and potato offering when we met Pam and Alex. He cut through all the social niceties, asked "where did you get that pie?" and rushed off to find one. His fine sense of priorities endeared him to us and a good friendship started then and still persists.
